Aesthetic facial plastic surgery aims to modify the appeance of facial structures—eyes, brows, nose, neck, skin, ears—to create harmony, balance, and rejuvenation. Everyone’s goal for facial modification is different. We want to listen and hear your interests, and tailor solutions to meet your goals.

What is functional facial plastic surgery?

Functional facial plastic surgery aims to provide improve the ability of the face to work better. This includes improvment of nasal breathing, relieving visual obstruction from excessive drooping of the eyelids, and reconstucting the face after injury from trauma or cancer. Functional facial plastic surgery may be covered procedure by insurance.

  • Functional rhinoplasty: nasal valve repair, crooked nose, septoplasty

  • Facial nerve: reinnervation, static/dynamic reanimation, chemodennervation, facial sling, eyelid weight

  • Endoscopic orbital decompression: Graves ophthalmopathy

  • Trauma: mandible fracture, midface/tripod fracture, orbital fracture, sinus fracture

  • Tissue reconstruction: cancer defects, trauma defects, free tissue transfer, bone graft

Dr. Chang and Dr. Hadford are the few fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeons in Middle Missouri. Both are double board-certified or board-eligible, having completed training in Head and Neck Surgery (Otolaryngology) as well as an additional year of fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
